Service & Missions
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."
Matthew 25:35-36
Jesus is unimpressed by the notion of a professional ministry executive. Ministry is meant to be incarnational - loving and ministering to others in the flesh. The greatest in Jesus' Kingdom is humble, least of all, servant of all. These are the qualities we seek to develop in aspiring pastors and leaders at Thrive Residency.
Through local service projects and missions with our cohort and ministry employers, Residents learn what it means to love, show mercy, and testify of the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost, the lonely, and the brokenhearted.
Work, service, and missions without renewal will lead to burnout. Thrive Residents learn the value of rest, play, work/life balance, and spiritual practices that enliven and sustain us for life and ministry.
