Life at Thrive Residency
Ministry Employment
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."
Colossians 3:23
God's call requires action. At Thrive Residency, we go to work... literally! Through our network of local churches and non-profit ministry partners, we match each Resident with a 30 hour/week job that significantly aligns with their vocational heartbeat, whether it's kids/youth ministry, serving at-risk communities, music and creative arts, mentoring and discipleship, local missions, community development, and more!
We provide the job, but Residents provide the effort. And our ministry partners expect good work. Each Resident will have a job description, a supervisor, quarterly reviews, and regular ministry objectives to achieve.
Our church and non-profit partners sign-on for a 10-month employment term, but they are always looking for long-term qualified leaders. At minimum, Residents should find themselves with a good letter of recommendation. But it just might result in a full-time job at the completion of the program!
Special thanks to some of our recent ministry workplace partners: Amachi Mentoring, Boys & Girls Club, CBR, CedarBrook Outreach, Church of the Redeemer, Compassion Coalition, Cornerstone Christian Church, Emerald Academy, First Baptist Concord, Grace Church Knoxville, KICKO, Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM), Knoxville Leadership Foundation (KLF), Lennon-Seney UMC, Lonsdale Community Church, Midtown Community Church, Mosaic Church, Operation Backyard, Redeemer Church of Knoxville, Resurrection Knoxville, Shoreline Church, The Cross, Thrive, True Life Church, Vineyard Maryville, Wesley House, and Young Life.
To become a thriving pastor or non-profit leader, education and training is essential. At Thrive Residency, we devote time each week to graduate-level theological education and practical ministry training.
